Privacy Policy — VideoCraft

Last updated: 30 July 2026 · Contact: videocrafteditor@gmail.com

VideoCraft (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a video editing application for Android. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle.

Summary. VideoCraft edits your videos entirely on your device. Your photos, videos, audio and the projects you create are never uploaded to us. We do not have an account system, and we do not sell or share personal data.

1. Photos, videos and audio you choose

When you add media to a project, the app reads the files you select and stores its working copies on your own device only. Editing, effects, and export are all performed locally on your phone.

Photo and video library access

To let you browse and pick your media inside the app, VideoCraft asks for permission to read your photo and video library (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES and READ_MEDIA_VIDEO on Android; Photos access on iOS). This is used only to show you a gallery of your own media and to import the items you choose.

You can change or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

2. Microphone

If you use the Voiceover feature, the app requests microphone permission and records audio. That recording is saved locally into your project and is never transmitted to us. You may decline the permission; the rest of the app continues to work.

3. Files and storage

Storage permission is used only to read the media you pick and to save your exports to your gallery. The app does not scan, index, or transmit other files on your device.

4. Internet use

The app connects to the internet only to:

5. Crash reporting and diagnostics

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to learn about crashes so we can fix them. When the app crashes it may send:

This data is used only to diagnose stability problems. It does not include your media, your projects, or information that identifies you personally. Firebase’s handling of this data is described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

6. Children

The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We do not collect personal information from anyone under 13 (COPPA, United States), under 16 (GDPR default age of digital consent in the EU/EEA, subject to lower ages set by individual member states), or under the equivalent age set by your local law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to videocrafteditor@gmail.com and we will delete it.

7. Data retention and your control

Because your content stays on your device, you control it: delete a project inside the app, or uninstall the app, to remove its local data. Crash diagnostics are retained by Google Firebase according to their published retention periods.

8. Your rights

VideoCraft is available worldwide. Because the app has no accounts and your media never leaves your device, the only personal data we hold is the crash diagnostics described in section 5.

If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland (GDPR/UK GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of that data, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your national data protection authority. Our legal basis for crash diagnostics is legitimate interest in keeping the app stable (Art. 6(1)(f)). Data controller: the VideoCraft developer, contactable at the address below.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA) you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not offer financial incentives for data. Exercising these rights will never result in a worse experience.

Anywhere else, we will honour access and deletion requests on the same terms regardless of whether local law compels us to.

To exercise any of these, write to videocrafteditor@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. We may ask for the installation identifier shown in the app’s crash diagnostics in order to locate your records — without it, unlinked crash reports cannot be traced to an individual.

8a. International data transfers

Crash diagnostics are processed by Google Firebase on servers that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Google relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers; see firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Your photos, videos and projects are never transferred anywhere — they stay on your device.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised policy at the same address.
